The Number of Imam Hatip Schools is Being Increased
For many years, the perspective on Imam Hatip students and graduates in this country was different. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has always expressed his sadness regarding this issue. Erdoğan has drawn attention with the steps he has taken in this regard in recent years. The prime minister, who attaches great importance to Imam Hatips, is increasing the number of schools while also improving the educational opportunities in existing schools. He regrets that he and his children were also victimized during this process. The President gladdens Imam Hatip students by opening 155 educational facilities.
Injustices Against Imam Hatips on February 28th Have Ended
Until a few years ago, studying at an Imam Hatip was seen as bigotry. It was claimed and proven that Imam Hatip schools and the students studying in them were mistreated, especially during the February 28th process. Furthermore, Imam Hatip graduates could not enter universities. Only those who uncovered their heads could study at university. Those who did not compromise their faith were subjected to verbal and physical violence.
