The History of Mineral Research and Exploration
It was established in 1935 to find the rich mineral resources of our country and to use these found resources most efficiently. In addition to finding valuable minerals, training qualified personnel to be employed in the mineral metal sector is also among the institution's duties. The institution, which determines the locations of quarries and mines, also works on the more efficient use of previously found mineral resources and the expansion of their reserves. While MTA continues its work within the Balgat campus, to which it moved in 1967, it continues its survey studies all over the country today.
An Organization Continuously Developing Itself in the Mining Sector
MTA, which has a large share in the development of the republic and has a large share in the discovery of many mineral veins in our country today, has also undertaken an important mission in spreading mining awareness throughout the country and has met the drinking water needs of villagers by drilling drinking water wells in its exploration activities in villages. Again, at the same time, it has garnered appreciation by undertaking social works by donating the buildings it established during mineral exploration activities to the villagers after the completion of its work.
